African American History – The Gullah Contribution in Rice farming

According to African Historians the Gullah people who inhabit the coastal area of South Carolina were the first successful group to be able to Farm Rice. they introduced the skills of rice farming that they had learnt in Africa and for this they became the most sought after slaves by the plantation around South Carolina. South Carolina became one of the wealthiest of the 13 colonies.
